I have always loved the freedom that a bicycle provides. As a child, growing up in Alabama, I could hop on my bike with my friends and go to the park, the pool or meet up with other friends. As an adult, I still appreciate this feeling of freedom that a bike provides. For the last 20 years, I worked as a mechanical engineer in downtown Seattle. During that time, I discovered that I loved commuting by bicycle. This led to cycling becoming part of my weekends, as well. I completed the STP (Seattle to Portland), RSVP (Ride Seattle to Vancouver and Party) and have done Obliteride annually, for several years. Eventually my passion for riding caught on with my wife Katie, and now we both love to ride regularly.
In December 2018, I decided that I wanted to follow this passion and Kickstand Tours was born. Traditional cycling can be arduous; hills, headwinds and heavy loads all provide obstacles to enjoyment, especially for the casual cyclist. Electric bikes (eBikes) make this freedom more accessible and fun for many. Pair that with wine tasting in beautiful wine country, and you have a pretty perfect way to spend a day.
