I just found out about your tours but don't have a reservation, can I still join?
- Absolutley! If you would like to schedule a tour after we stop taking reservations on our website simply e-mail us at info@kickstandtours.com or call/text us @ 509-960-5787. We will also have updated information about where our tours start the next day at the Visitor's Information Kiosk when we are in Walla Walla. For tours in the Yakima Valley (Zillah/Prosser/Red Mountain), please contact us directly to see where our tours will be starting. It's always best to let us know ahead of time if you would like to join us and confirm availability, but we will try to accommodate last minute arrivals as best we can. Tours usually kick-off around 10:00-10:15 each day, plan to arrive early.
- Tours will last 5-6 hours and we will stop at 3 wineries.
- Riding an eBike is a piece of cake. If you can ride a standard bike you can ride an eBike, it just takes less effort than a conventional bike. It is recommended however that you are comfortable riding a bicycle.
- We generally ride about 10-15 miles over fairly flat to rolling hills terrain. Most riders find that with the eBike assistance they can handle this easily. If you decide that you don’t want to ride any further, just let your guide know and they will arrange to have the van take you the rest of the way.
- We have designed our routes to be comfortable for all riders. There are few significant hills and the eBike will help you with any inclines you might encounter. We will be riding on public roads, so we will encounter cars and need to follow the rules of the road. However our routes have been chosen to limit busy roads. If you feel uncomfortable at any time, let your guide know, we can always let you ride in the van.
- There is no minimum weight, but there is a maximum weight for our bikes of 275 lbs.
- Food can be tricky on our tours, so that is a good question. We try to plan our tours to include a stop that has food available, but that is not always be an option. When there is not going to be food at our stops, we will have box lunches available for purchase. We will let you know before the tour what the itinerary will be so that you can plan accordingly. If you prefer to bring you own food, we can usually accommodate that too. It's best to let us know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.
- Wine tasting fees will vary but most are $10-15 and are typically waived with the purchase of a bottle or more. You are not required to purchase any tastings as part of our tour, you are welcome to join us for the ride, scenery and wonderful company. You are also welcome to bring your own snacks and/or lunch. When you book your tour, you will receive an introduction package that includes a detailed itinerary, information about each stop and the menu options.
- Safety is our #1 priority! All bikes and helmets will be thoroughly sanitized between tours. Per CDC guidelines, we are not requiring mask on our tours while biking. We will follow the guidelines of each of the wineries we visit and will have masks available for our guests.
- Most wineries have a wine club or some other type of membership program. If you find a winery on our tour that you really love and want to purchase more, their wine club can be a great option to bring some wine home at a discount. While the details vary by winery, typically they include a regular shipment of wine (quarterly, every 4 months, twice yearly, etc.) as well as a discount on any other purchases. There can often be additional perks too.
- Fantastic! We encourage you to purchase wine on your tour. We have arranged for our guests to leave all purchases at the winery while we continue riding. Once we get to our last tasting of the day, your guide will take the van and pick up all purchases. That way we can ensure that it stays at the optimum temperature before you take it with you.
- Sorry, only guests 21 and over. Sorry, no pets. Please call in advance and make arrangements if you have a service animal that will need to join you.
- All guides have first aid and CPR training. They also know lots of interesting facts about the wineries you will visit, geography, history, wine and much more.
- If it is raining, too hot or you just don't feel like riding anymore, the van is always an option. This is an all-weather activity, refunds are not given for inclement weather. It gets hot here for most of the summer, so be prepared for warmer temperatures. If we need to cancel the event due to unsafe weather conditions, we will contact you before the tour time to reschedule your tickets to another time that is convenient for you. Please be sure the local (or cell phone) number you provide when buying your tickets is accurate. Tour price can also be refunded at guests option.
- If you’re unable to make the tour, we are happy to reschedule you at no additional charge for a day with mutual availability. A $50 non-refundable deposit is included in each guest’s booking fee. The remaining balance will be refunded up to 24 hours prior to your scheduled tour. No refunds are given for cancellations made by a guest within 24 hours of the scheduled tour.
- If you decide that you or a friend have had a little too much, you can always get in the van and finish out the tour. Please remember that Kickstand Tours is NOT a drinking tour. Our wonderful winery tour is about experiencing our beautiful wine country. In 5-6 hours we only visit 3 wineries and sip, not guzzle wine. If you want a drinking tour, we will be happy to refer you to a limo service. The guides will be looking out for people who look unsafe to ride. Since we are all responsible adults we would love to see everyone finish the tour on their bike, the last thing our guides want to do is remove someone from their bike. Safety being our first concern however, if we feel someone isn't safe to ride we won't hesitate to take them off the bike and allow them to finish the tour in the van.
- We have many wineries that we have worked with already and have developed a relationship. That being said, there are so many choices we understand many people have a favorite winery they might like to visit. If you have a specific winery you would like to include in your tour, please contact us in advance and let us know. If we can accommodate your request, we'd be happy to arrange a custom itinerary for you.
